Did you hear that Tim Tebow signed with the New York Mets? Yes, its true! And here’s why that’s exciting.
Several weeks ago he held a tryout where he invited all the major league baseball teams. He wanted to show them he could compete on the highest level. So many people hated on him for doing this. Others said he was being disrespectful to professional baseball players for pretending he could make a major league team. He had every reason to give up and cancel the tryout. But he didn’t. A week later he was signed to a minor league contract by the New York Mets.
He followed his dreams to be a professional athlete. I am not here to critique his skills or whether he should or shouldn’t be a professional athlete. What I admire is that he had a goal and relentlessly pursued it. He believed in his abilities and was willing to put himself on the line. We don’t know if he will be successful in the minor leagues but thats besides the point. He could have just sat around and mopped and complained that no NFL team would sign him but instead he kept working, kept dreaming and chasing those dreams. He did what we all wish we could do.
That is my Everyday Cathedral today. We weren’t born to live “good enough” lives, we were born to live extraordinary lives. So chase your dreams.
